I was raised by my dad in my later years and the Lord brought amazing godly women to fill the void my mother left behind. Continue doing what you're doing. It's never easy being the one that branches out from the generational sins and habits. Praying for you! My mom worked from the time i was 6 weeks old, my folks are not christians, i was mostly left to myself growing up unless my grades were low.
Walking biblical motherhood with no past foundation, i just feel like it adds another rarely mentioned but huge burden onto us pioneer mamas. I can pray and read all the books and pin all the pins and cook all the right stuff, but it really all boils down to me overcoming a whole lot of generational habits like addiction and verbal abuse, to name a few, with the help of the savior. And walking that out minute by minute. Somedays the routines, the homeschooling, the things most moms deal with take a back seat to praying through these big things i was taught to escape through unhealthy means.
Im coming to veiw myself as a stepping stone. If my years as motherhood fail to teach my kids to be well behaved, clean, organized, but they do exemplify leaning hard into God, well that part at least, may come easier for my kids. And with God's strength they can work on cleaning up the rest.
Its hard out here in pioneer land, thank you for sharing and showing me someone else who is fighting this, particular good fight.Heather McCoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18229431278057048062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8492752135492804254.post-39207430526395012802013-12-18T12:27:56.771-06:002013-12-18T12:27:56.771-06:00Thank you sandi for you comment. i hope other moms...Thank you sandi for you comment. i hope other moms hear what I'm trying to say.. Even when it feels as if nothing is getting through, by God's amazing grace it does! I know it was not in this context, but I refer to it in parenting quite often. Let your 'Yes' be yes, and your 'No' be no.
