Thanksgiving recap

Our Thanksgiving went off without a hitch. No food was burned, the dressing was AMAZING, and the pies were perfect. It was very low-key at our house with just a few family members. We actually ran out of turkey. Now we know for next year...bring more meat!

Hubby and I wanted to start our own Thanksgiving traditions. We placed scriptures of thanks on place cards. Everyone had one card and we went around reading the scripture before we prayed for our meal.

This guy doesn't belong to us. He showed up at our doorstep. Hubby being the dog lover he is put him in our backyard since he didn't have a collar and he didn't want him to get run over. He was very obedient and it was obvious he had an owner. So before we ate for Thanksgiving hubby made flyers and put them around our neighborhood. His owner called us that evening!

Here are our pies. One was chocolate and the other buttermilk. I will be posting the buttermilk pie recipe soon by request.

On Friday (yesterday) we spent Thanksgiving with my side of the family. We celebrated my dad and his brother's birthday. You know you're going to have a good time when you're hanging out with this crowd.

While we were together I took family pictures of my cousin's family. I love that we have the gene that makes us look younger than we are....well sometimes it's a curse! When you want to be taken seriously. I mean look at her. She could pass for 18!! But I'm not going to tell you her real age..she might not appreciate that!

  4. Thanksgiving here was thankful but not totally the best. My oldest was sick(fever and headache) so hubs stayed home with her and the rest of us went to my aunts. My aunt loves to throw things like this but then overstresses so it was not a relaxing time. We were happy to be back with our little family by supper time to be thankful for the little things at home.

  5. Angie- that makes things hard when you have a little one sick. And I have an aunt that does the same thing! Which makes it hard to enjoy yourself. Hopefully it will be better next year!
