Getting to know you

Today we are getting to know Allie at Screwed up Texan blog.

How long have you been married?
Sometimes it feels longer than at other times, but I've been married for almost nine years. Believe or not, but our courtship was just under four months.
How many children do you have? ages?
We have three boys, who at the end of April will be 5, 6, and 7. Yes, we tried right away to have kids. No we didn't plan to space them this close together, but we weren't exactly preventing it either.
Are you a stay at home mom or a work at home mom?
What's the difference? Mothering is the hardest job. I'm waiting on the most rewarding part, although sometimes I've been told it's hard to feel it until they've gone to college.
Do you have any hobbies?
Photography, Hiking, Painting, Writing, Cooking, Fossil Hunting
What is you best memory you have of your family?
The best memories we create together as a family are when we are in the great outdoors either camping, hiking or fossil hunting. I always look forward to those times. Especially when we make reservations for camping because last time we didn't we ended up doing it primitive style.
What is your favorite family vacation?
Last year when we took a week long roadtrip to Utah through Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona stopping at state parks along the way.
What are some ways you practice frugality?
I have my husband go shopping.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
One of the following three:

1.) In elementary we had to pretend we were mimes. When I bent over to take a bow, I farted.

2.) That one time my youngest took a dump in my neighbor's front yard.

3.) That one time my youngest pulled his pants down and peed outside the funeral home at my sister's funeral.

Oh wait there's one more:

4.) That one time my youngest escaped from the house and I nearly called 911 because I thought I had lost him, when suddenly there was a knock on my front door. It was one of the roofers who was holding my child who had poop squirting out from his diaper all over the poor man's arm. I was so embarrassed I pointed to the water spicket and shut my front door as fast as I could without saying a word.

So when's college?

What surprised you the most about marriage?
Sex: My husband I were both virgins when we got married.
Finances: I never knew how fast one (or two) could blow through $10,000.
Compassion: I never knew I could love someone so much.
What surprised you the most about being a mom?
That I could actually make it through those first Zombie-like months (you know, from sleep deprivation). Although I can't complain too much because my husband is a saint and got up every night to feed our babies, then go to work at 7 am.
What is the hardest part about being a mom for you?
Feeling inadequate. My oldest and middle son both have learning disabilities that were just diagnosed. I wonder if what I've done for them educationally is enough.
What is the most rewarding part?
Seeing what creations they make through art and science and watching my children interact with each other and their peers. Then receiving a hug after a long day without even asking.
How long have you been blogging?
Almost two years.
What is your reason for blogging?
I love to make people laugh!
Can you leave us a link of your  favorite post from your blog?
Oh gosh there are so many favorites! How about Never Trust a Drunk Farmer or Fashion Flashbacks...
