Getting to know YOU!

Today we are getting to know Kathryn from My Three Adorable Kids. Be sure to head over to Kathryn's blog to leave some love!

How long have you been married?
I will be married 6 years on July 7, 2010. We had a nice wedding in Las Vegas with all of our family and friends. =)

How many children do you have? ages? I have 3 adorable kids..(giggle)..
Ethan is my oldest. He is 5 years old and is a handful. Lauren in the Cream of the cookie (the middle, the best part), she is 3 and my only baby girl. Caden is 17 months and my last. He is my Prozac. I can not look at his cute little face with out smiling.
What is the one thing that if nothing else "sticks" you want your children to learn from you?
I want them to learn responsibility. I know there is allot more but if they are responsible they will live happier lives. They will make the right choices and be successful.

Are you a stay at home mom or a work at home mom?
I have always felt strong about staying home with my kids.. Both my parents worked  and we were left with people my family TRUSTED.. I was molested every day I went there. I didn't tell my mom until a year ago. So to me.. what's worth more, money or my kids safety? You can't trust every one. So yes I think staying at home is important.

Do you have any hobbies?
What's a hobby???? LOL... I love to camp in our travel trailer, take the boat out in the ocean, deep sea fishing is my favorite, and traveling has got to be my number one. My kids will be going on there second cruise( Ethan's 3rd) in July and this will be my 6th cruise. I traveled growing up and want my kids to experience the same things I did..

What is you best memory you have of your family?
That would have to be our first Christmas as a complete family. It was just perfect!

What is your favorite family vacation?
I would have to say growing up vacationing was my favorite.. We travel to Europe twice for a month each time.. Ireland was my favorite, If I only was into photography at that age! The beauty is magnificent. Kissing the Blarney Stone and staying the night in a Castle and the room being bigger than my house to sledding down a mountain. The churches were gorgeous! I don't think there was one place we didn't go.

What are some ways you practice frugality?
When I grocery shop I don't buy name brand, and in fact.. the generic stuff is actually healthier! I spend no more than $250 a month on groceries. We DO NOT eat trans fats, that cuts the cost down because I am not buying crap foods, I actually wrote a post about it on my blog. I stay home as much as possible. I don't spend more than $20 a week on gas, I have an SUV. See I don't drive much..lol.

I don't buy expensive diapers.. Here is a tip for all you moms who buy diapers and shop at Target.. Buy the Up & Up diapers.. The are only $13 VS. Huggies and Pampers which will cost you $20.. You get the same amount in Up & Up and they have the stretch tabs and work just as well as the expensive diapers!

What is your most embarrassing moment?
I can't really recall any embarrassing moments but I do have a " I can't believe I did that moment". Let's just say I went to the bathroom and realized I still had my underwear on, I don't wear the granny kind... It was one of those duh moments..

What surprised you the most about marriage?
It's not easy and takes Lot's on compromise and work. You learn allot about your significant other good and bad. Before I got married I was working in movies such as the Fast and The Furious and I was having fun hanging out! Now I am with this one person forever.. It's a weird change..lol

What surprised you the most about being a mom?
Everything! You don't think about the terrible 5, 3 and 2s.. You have to have allot of patience. Here is another tip: If you plan of having more than one child.. TRAIN the first one they way you want your other kids to act because you first child will be the influencer on the others. Another thing that surprised me is they grow FAST! It seems like just yesterday Ethan was born and now I have Three!!

I don't hover over my kids. I let them learn from experience. If they want to play in the mud in there clothes, I let them, if they want to eat bugs I let them. They will learn. I just don't freak out over things. I believe if you limit what they can do they will rebel.
What is the hardest part about being a mom for you?
The temper tantrums. If my kids don't get what they want they scream, kick, swear, they tell me they hate me.. It's hard because I want to loose it and scream and pull my hair out.. but I have to keep my cool.. It's crazy!

I also worry about there safety. Like going away for the night.. Remember I was molested. I don't trust any one. It's really hard for me to adjust.. the best thing I can do is educate my kids and let them know that it's ok to tell me when some one hurts them.

What is the most rewarding part?
When they come up to me and hug and kiss me then tell me they love me! I erases all the bad stuff they did that day..lol

What is your dream job? If you could do absolutely anything...
I have always wanted to work in labor and delivery. Then I fell in love with photography after doing a photo shoot with Roseanne Bar and her family.
Now that I have kids it's that much fun!

Share with us 3 interesting facts about yourself that others may not know about.
I am a clean freak
I am very impatient
I saved my little brother from almost drowning in the ocean

How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for almost 2 years and love it!

What is your reason for blogging?
my mom introduced me to blogging and I wanted to start a blog as a journal of my life for family and friends. I love looking back and going through my labor process at home with Caden and then his birth. I love looking a pictures of when the kids were just babies. I just can't believe there is this whole world of blogging and you can actually make a career of it! It's crazy!

  2. Thank you melissa,

Though I don't feel brave, I am not ashamed of what happened because it was something that I was to just young to control. It's just something that I have to deal with and do my best to educate others to watch out for.

It's a shame that there is a ton of these horrible people.. Like I said it can be some one you trust dearly. It can be any one even your own husband.
