Baby update

UPDATE: 11/23 Well, the nurse called me late this afternoon to tell me the results. I was hopeful but the number was 109. We want it to stay above 100. The last time they took my platelet count it was 120. To be completely honest with you it's hard not to be discouraged that they have fallen that much. So all we can do now is pray. Pray that this baby comes when my platelet count is above 100 on his own! Pray that my platelets don't fall anymore. :(

This morning I had my 37 week checkup. I was anxious to hear my platelet count. My Dr. and I were frustrated to find out that the lab tech had ordered the wrong test last week, so I didn't find out today. We did take labs today and the results should be in tomorrow. I will let you know what the results are! Praying for a HIGH count!!

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I am 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced! Thanks to Serena I am going to start sipping on raspberry leaf tea and trying a few different natural induction methods. Do you know of any good ones?

Prayer requests: Still praying for my platelet count to be high! That I go into labor on my own before my induction date and no c-section!!

I have have yet to pack my bag....I'm off to do that now. :)

  1. Thanks for the shout out. I hope all goes well Tomorrow.

I just started the raspberry tea its actually really good. My midwife said not to worry about any leftovers as I can drink it even during breastfeeding.

You can also make iced tea from it, so I plan to try that as well. I am trying 2 get my 2 cups a day in.

I did my first acupuncture today it was rather uneventful aside from my head starting to bleed when she took out the needles. ha.

I just packed my bags last weekend and that was a huge relief to know that is done.

  4. I used a heated rice bag on my chest during my 38th week. Heat on your breasts is supposed to stimulate contractions. I went into labor about 6 hours later. My best friend used the same technique and went into labor within 4 hours. Also check out the pregnancy pressure points in your ankles. I used those two [so did my BFF] and went into labor that night. Good luck!

  5. How often do people actually go into labor early?

I see lots of people who had babies from 36 weeks on, but then the medical doctors always say fist babies are late 9 times out of 10.

  9. With my second, my doctor stripped my membranes a week before my due date. Labor started then stopped. She stripped my membranes again on my due date. I drank Raspberry Leaf Tea all day. Labor started, and continued!! Coincidence???

  10. Thanks ladies!! I can't wait to try these! I'm all over the raspberry leaf tea! HA!

Serena- I'm not sure what percentage go into labor before 37 weeks. 37 weeks is considered full term. With little man I wasn't dilated to a two until after 3 hours of labor. So I'm hopeful this is a good sign. :)

  13. Monica,

I will be praying, as I know I did not want to be induced either. Just know you are being lifted up before the LORD.
