MOM Heart Conference

Last weekend a friend and I attended Sally Clarkson's Mom Heart Conference. It was a wonderful time of conviction, encouragement, and full of wisdom. Sally did a wonderful job sharing what godly motherhood looks like.

"You have to invest time with those (our children) we want to influence"

-We need to laugh at their jokes, look them in the eye, and listen not just with our ears but our hearts.

"I want to follow God, therefore I will faithfully sow truth, faith, and Scripture into the fabric of my children's lives, and trust the Holy Spirit to make my work effective."

-We need to be intentional in sharing God and scripture with our children. They will not get that in everyday circumstances. We need to make the choice to do so. There are so many other influences in their lives. Consider how much time they spend watching elmo or other popular kid's shows. Now consider how much time you have taken to say scripture aloud to them. How often did you pray with your child?

"If you do not choose to walk in the light, you will walk in the dark"

- There is no middle ground spiritually. We are either living or dying.

"The spirit of a woman can change a whole family's history"

  -LOVE this one.

"Your mom heart is a light to a world that needs a testimony of godly motherhood"

-When you raise your family according to God's will. You will impact your community, extended family and world!

"God designed (mothers) you for eternal purposes"

"If your soul isn't rich, how can it give richness to your child?"

"We can not pass on to your children what we don't possess."
-Ladies if we are not in scripture, if we don't have a relationship with the King of Kings how can we pass that on to our children?

"What will you do to whisper to this child the secrets of the kingdom of God?"

"Speak loving words over, about and to your children"

"You are the mom God wanted for your children"

If you don't teach your children about God's love the world will be ready to with plenty of "other" influences.

I walked into motherhood without a clue of what godly motherhood looked like. I felt totally inadequate but the truth is...I am inadequate. I can't do it on my own. But with God I am adequate. Being a mom is one of the most profound callings God has called you to. Don't take you role lightly but have fun with it. Create a peaceful home and a home full of laughter.

If you have the opportunity to go to a mom heart conference don't miss out! This was my first year to go and it won't be last!
