Getting to know is back! I love these posts! Today we have Lindsey from guffeyfamily blog.
How long have you been married? This coming September it will be 4 years. But I've been 'with' my hubbie for 10 years, this last Valentine's Day! We're high school sweathearts (cue the 'aaaawwww's)
How many children do you have? ages? We have just one son, Brogan. He's 18 months and a pistol! He definitely keeps us on our toes :)
Are you a stay at home mom or a work at home mom? I work full time, as does my hubbie. But I'd absolutely LOVE to be a SAHM!
Do you have any hobbies? My husband and I both love being involved in community theatre. I've been singing/acting since I was at least 3 or 4 and it's definitely a passion of mine! Since having Brogan, I am limiting myself to maybe 1 show a year. We're actually in a show right now: Rent.
What is you best memory you have of your family? Oh wow...there are so many. I'd say from childhood, it'd be the little vacations we'd take out to Western Kansas to see my grandma and other extended family. She lived in a tiny town--Sylvan Grove, KS. My cousins and I would ride our bikes downtown or to the little park nearby. And when I got older (around 12 or so), my mom would take me to the cemetary to drive! I remember thinking that was the coolest thing :)
What is your favorite family vacation? As a family, we didn't take big family vacations. I am the baby of the family and am 10 years younger than my closest sibling. So by the time I was the age to really go on family vacations I could remember, we just didn't really go anywhere. We would make the treck to Denver, CO to see one of my grandma's and we did visit San Antonio once when my second oldest brother lived there.
What are some ways you practice frugality? This question made me giggle a little....I WISH I did this more! I'm trying though...sorta :) I don't know if this would count, but I'm getting to be a coupon user on mostly everything! From household items to clothing items!
What is your most embarrassing moment? I honestly can't think of 1 single thing in particular! This being said, because I've had many, MANY moments!
What surprised you the most about marriage? How not-very-different it's been. I don't know if it's because we've been with each other for so long or we just mesh really well together.
What surprised you the most about being a mom? How natural it is! I feel like this was my goal in life. I've never had real high self-esteem but being a mom is definitely the one thing I KNOW FOR A FACT that I'm good at!
What is the hardest part about being a mom for you? There are days when I want to be 'get away' from home but for the most part, it's hard to work full time and be away from him. I think it's because 1) sooooo many of my friends (IRL or bloggers) are SAHM and it's hard to hear about all the fun things they do with their kids and 2) Brogan's at such a fun age that I want to be around alot!
What is the most rewarding part? Brogan has started giving lots of squeezes, kisses, and saying 'Love you' (even though it sounds nothing like it!). And he's learning so much and to know that we've taught him those things, makes my heart so warm and fuzzy! Plus, this boy LOVES his mama so to hear him say mama or when his face lights up when he sees me totally makes his fussiness worth it!
How long have you been blogging? I've only been blogging for a little over a year. I'm not always great at keeping up (this is another reason working full time sometimes sucks!) but I do love reading other peoples and having an outlet if I need one.
What is your reason for blogging? Like I said before, I am striving to be a better blogger but I do it because it's a way to document little things in my/Brogan's everyday life. I started off just reading some popular blogs (Kelly's Korner, Bring the Rain, Matt Logelin's blog) and one day I just decided I'd create my own blog (with the help of my friend Molly @ The Fuschia News) and see how it goes. I might not have a huge follower list but I do love it when people comment OR I get a new follower!
Head over to Lindsey's blog and leave some love! It was great "getting to know you" better Lindsey!
I am a sinner saved by grace! I love being a wife and absolutely adore my husband. My newest role as mother has been incredible! Before God blessed us with our little man we struggled with infertility and suffered a loss. To read about our loss click here. I am a professional photographer living out my dream one frame at a time.
My husband is adventurous, loving, patient, funny, encouraging, forgiving, talented and my best friend. We met through a mutual friend at church. The fact that he could sing and play guitar was what caught my eye. But his personality and love for the Lord is what won my heart. Well that and his smile!
Little man is our little blessing. He made is big debut on June 1, 2009. He is such a happy boy, who is very curious about the world around him. Which is a nice way of saying, he is into everything! We found out we were pregnant with him two days before we had our first infertility specialist appointment. God is good!
Our second blessing, Cohen was born December 2, 2010. He and his brother are almost exactly 1 year 1/2 apart. We love watching his personality shine through and are blessed to have him in our family!
Mason is our third boy and the best surprise we've ever received! His big brothers love him to pieces. So far he is a laid back baby who is already sleeping through the night.
