Guacamole

I could live on it! Seriously! Here's my recipe but the great thing about guacamole is that you can add anything you want!!

2 avocados
1 tablespoon of diced red onion
1/2 tablespoon of chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons of seeded and diced tomato
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 lime wedge
garlic salt to taste

I cut up the avocado while it's still in the skin and then scoop it out with a spoon. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. I wait till the end to add the garlic salt. I only add a "little bit".

Now the ultimate taste test.....

Success!!

My dad will sometimes add green pepper or jalapenos. Some add more cilantro. I'm just not a big cilantro fan. So I don't add as much.  What do you like to add to your guacamole?

  5. Jalepanos are a must! As is Tony Chachere's (a type of southern seasoning)!

I am drooling just thinking about homemade gauc! And to think just a few years ago, I thought it was gross. Happy wednesday!

  6. We eat so many avocados here! One secret for guac that I have is to roll the avocado until the inside is mushy and pulls away from skin. Then I just slice in half and scoop out with a spoon. My recipe is very similar to yours, but I add a bit of cream cheese and sourcream. Yum!!

PS Love these photos - so great!

I enjoy guacamole but I do not add cilantro. I do not like it at all. I have definitely given it a good try but it is not for me. :)
When I make guacamole I eat it as a meal.

  11. I LOVE Guacamole! It is so yummy. I don't use cilantro because I don't like it but I do add some jalepenos. I have never used garlic salt and I will have to try that....usually it is sea salt. Just Yummy!
