A few of my favorite things...

Being a mom in this day and age there are many things that can simplify our lives. Every Thursday I am going to share some of my favorite things.

My first favorite thing is the miracle blanket. It is easy to use and unlike other swaddle blankets it doesn't have any scratchy velcro. If little man is swaddled correctly he can't get out. I think the reason he sleeps so well is because of the miracle blanket. It's a must have!

My next favorite thing is gripe water. Little man gets hiccups a lot. He gets very upset because they seem to be painful for him. Most of the time as soon as I give him some gripe water they are gone! I love this stuff!

What are some of your favorite things?

I loved Gripe water for Kyle. He ended up having really bad reflux and gripe water seemed to help enough before we knew he had reflux. As far as swaddling...yeah, nothing worked with him. He HATED being swaddled. Even the nurses at the hospital when he was born couldn't keep him swaddled and they did it hundreds of times a week. It became a challenge to see who could keep the MacKinney kid swaddled; Kyle won!! My favorite things for Kyle right now are hot wheels and music!! Give him some hot wheel cars and put on some music and he'll sit and play for hours.

  2. Gripe water is certainly the best!

I love our swaddleme blanket by Kiddopotamus. It has the velcro but the velcro does not touch little man's skin.

Another favorite thing is my ocean sounds cd. Keeps little man peacefully sleeping through the noise that is my 2 3/4 year old boy.

By the way, my little man was born June 5th.

  3. Jennifer- that totally cracks me up that right out of the womb kyle knew he did not like swaddling! Does he dance to the music or is it more used for a calming effect?

Annie- thanks for the comment! I've never heard of the swaddleme blanket. Congrats on your little man! Isn't it great to not have to be pregnant during the summer? It's 102 degrees here today and I am ecstatic that I am not pregnant.

He dances like a wild man every time he hears music. He LOVES to dance. Right now he is starting to learn actual dance moves. It is too cute to watch him!!
